Install VS Code, then follow the official PlatformIO IDE extension instructions; choose the appropriate board environment for a new project. Its VS Code integration includes PlatformIO Core.
Check: Create a small project for the intended board and build it in PlatformIO; optionally open the serial monitor.
These apply when using this tool, not before starting Lab 1.
